About Sheila

With over 25 years of corporate telecommunications experience, Sheila has effectively and successfully led both statewide and multi-state organizations through a myriad of market- and customer-driven changes, including rapid technological advances, mergers, downsizing, outsourcing and process re-engineering. She has designed, implemented and led high performance work teams to achieve challenging objectives in response to dramatic market changes and increased competition.

These experiences have provided her an excellent platform from which to advise, consult and equip organizations and leaders in employee development areas — particularly as they involve females and minorities.

Recognized for her exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, Sheila is an excellent facilitator, mentor and coach -- with an ability to bring together diverse groups in consensus and motivate individuals and teams to achieve aggressive goals and targets.

Her career with Verizon Communications and its predecessor, GTE, featured numerous accomplishments that have become benchmarks in the organization. As Texas Region Operations President, Sheila was a founding member of Verizon’s National Operations Diversity Council -- teaching and modeling skills for leading and managing employees in diverse corporate environments.

Sheila also achieved strong performance and profitability results as a senior leader for a number of Verizon and GTE organizations. In addition, her commitment to community service has been evidenced through her service on behalf of the United Way, Pennsylvania and Washington Business Roundtables – as well as Penn State and Edinboro University.
