NAVIGATING THE CORPORATE POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT (GETTING ALONG AND GETTING AHEAD)

Key discussion topics include the importance of interpersonal skills. This includes managing your boss, developing your supervisory skills and style, and promoting teamwork. It also includes the effective communication of goals and results to gain cross-organizational awareness, understanding and buy-in. A major emphasis is placed on how to accomplish these priorities while maintaining an unwavering commitment to integrity and ethics. We also explore the roles and effectiveness of mentors and sponsors.

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS

How we are seen and how we see others – and how we can generate positive attention and recognition versus negative attention or being ignored altogether -- is critical to success. This workshop will help identify stereotypes we may hold – or those imposed on us by others – and provide guidance to enhance your image, gain positive visibility and expand your career options. It also will provide supervisors and managers important knowledge for counseling their work teams in these important areas.

INTERVIEWING SKILLS

Whether seeking your first job or an important promotion – the most important thing you must do is sell “you.” This workshop will show you how to prepare for the interview process and provide proven methods for presenting yourself, your skills and your capabilities in the most compelling and effective manner possible. It also provides helpful insights regarding cultural barriers to effective interviewing.
